In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. – 1 Timothy 3:8-10
Help churches everywhere not to just put warm bodies into leadership but instead to vet their leaders and train them in the deeper truths of the faith. Cause lay leaders to be sincere and ardent in their guardianship of your bride, the church. Give them a supportive attitude that blesses their pastors with strong supporting friends as they carry their shepherding load. And help your people to respect and honor such leaders who volunteer their time for the good of the flock.
