Philippians 3:1-4

Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you. Watch out for those dogs, those evildoers, those mutilators of the flesh. For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh— though I myself have reasons for such confidence.  - Philippians 3:1-4

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help me to live in the joy and freedom of the gospel and to easily discern when I am being dragged under the law as my motivating force.  All of us who believe that faith is important have a tendency to think that faith is about what we do instead of what you have done and do.  So, we are constantly talking to ourselves about failures.  But you motivate with love.  You still make me do the right things and the loving things but you move me out of love instead of the billy club of the law.  Today is going to be a great day since I am free from all guilt motivation.  Thanks for rescuing me from guilt.

Amen

Serving out of thankful love is a burden that relieves the heart to rejoice in every circumstance.
