Throughout your ministry, there will be times when family must come before being a pastor. It's the right thing to do. For the rest of your life, do not neglect family to be a pastor. Find a way to shepherd your family, too.
Some pastors get so focused on making everybody get it right that they forget that their job is to make everybody see Christ and His love. To get it right for the right reasons. He always has to focus on helping every heart to meet Jesus and not just meet morality and doctrine. It’s not enough to do the right thing. One must be the right thing and that can only happen after encountering Jesus.
A mistake that many young pastors make is to believe that their goal is to find some hidden secret truths in the scriptures that blesses the planet. A planet that has been without that one secret truth for so long. They want to defend that secret truth they are revealing to the very end. When in fact, the greatest message EVER is in plain sight in the bible. It’s the love of God in Christ and His righteousness and it is the root of all peace, wisdom, joy, and power to change your life and it’s been known for 2000 years.
